UPS Service Supervisor – UK – Uninterruptible Power Supplies - £35-40K + Benefits

My client is the one of the worlds leading manufacturers’ of power supplies/UPS & cooling systems. An exciting opportunity exists for a UPS Service Supervisor within the UPS & Battery Service Department. They are looking for someone with 3+ years UPS experience to take on a supervisory roll for a team of between 6- 20 service engineers. They are looking for someone with Supervisory/management experience or for someone that has the people skills and is looking to develop and to take the next step in there career.

The role will consist of the following on a daily basis; to liaise with the Battery Service Department as necessary to ensure that the company receives and carries out battery work effectively and efficiently. On receipt of Field Service Bulletins ensure engineers are copied and any relevant parts are ordered and distributed. Ensure Field Service Engineers are completing company documentation for each field activity conducted.

Assist Call Control in identifying chargeable works and other discrepancies recorded on field service engineers CSRs, Drive revenue opportunities from installed base customers. Report to the UPS Service Manager when necessary, to ensure the UPS Service Manager is informed and aware of customer problems and planned resolutions. As a User, comply with the Company’s ITC policy.
Weekly duties include to Co-Ordinate the calibration of Field Service Engineers test equipment. Produce the departmental ‘Emergency Standby Rota’ and issue to UPS Service Manager, Field Service Engineers & Call control. Liaise with Computer Call any amendments to the issued rota. Produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments and ensure engineers job sheets and records are collated and processed for remedial works and invoicing, in good time and ensure all monthly "cut-off" dates are not delayed. Distribute commissioning Power Order Work sheets to Engineers on Geographical / Rota basis and ensure the works and site testing are co-ordiated within the site assignment program.

Maintain, issue and amend where necessary the departments commissioning, maintenance and operational documentation. Arrange product training for Field Service Engineers after consultation with Technical Support.
